How to Boost Booth Activity and Leads at Trade Show Events

DataServ Display at FusionHave you encountered the common challenges when setting up and managing a booth at a trade show –  attracting traffic, capturing leads, collecting business cards, carrying collaterals and dealing with technology issues?

St. Louis based DataServ, a global SaaS provider of document and process workflow automation solutions for the financial operations and human resources functions, sponsored a booth at Fusion, the annual financial industry trade show held during the first week of May, 2014, in Dallas, TX. Uncertain how they could display all of the data that they wanted to convey, the DataServ marketing team approached us to design a solution that would go beyond traditional digital signage.

We customized and delivered a unique, interactive visual display solution that projected dynamic marketing and product content for trade show attendees including:

  1. DataServ’s customer speaker’s presentation schedule
  2. In depth information about DataServ and their SaaS solutions
  3. Tweets from DataServ and followers during the event
  4. Mobile codes to allow download of DataServ product information

DataServ also wanted to eliminate printing and shipping of product sheets while presenting a state-of-the-art solution, which would enhance their presence at the show.

DataServ asked us to divide a 60-inch display into three sections, the right half of the screen comprised of their most important agenda, the schedule for their speaker seminar sessions during Fusion. The left side of the display was divided into two quadrants, the upper quadrant displaying a continuous string of solution videos that we converted into Brainshark presentations. By converting and merging four different YouTube videos into one Brainshark® video, we were able to run the videos non-stop in kiosk mode.  In the lower quadrant our Displays That Pay™ solution rotated the display of DataServ’s Twitter feed and a QR code which linked directly to DataServ’s Pardot® landing page.  Leads were captured and scored as interested visitors requested the downloads from the Pardot landing page.

In the weeks leading up to the show, we supported the DataServ team through a dry run of the interactive display solution at their location. As we recommended, DataServ downloaded the Glance® screen-sharing application so that we could remotely support them at the show. During setup on location at Fusion, we remotely assisted DataServ and tweaked the formatting of display content that was cropped on the display at the booth.  We both could see and review the results of the quick edits, which we made.

DataServ’s Marketing Manager, Greg Dietrich, summed up the success of the implementation of the Displays That Pay solution at Fusion: “The visual display was a huge hit. It made a big impact in the booth”.
